Get Involved!
There are many ways kids and teens are getting involved with the MS Society and helping to end MS.

If you're in elementary or junior high, your school might be participating in the MS Read-A-Thon program. This is a great way to raise money, earn great rewards and learn more about MS—just by reading!

Other youth are participating on teams in the Enerflex MS Walk and the RONA MS Bike Tour .

Visit our fundraising page to find out how you can get involved!

Want to help out? Hundreds of volunteers are needed to run all of our events. If you and some of your friends are interesting in volunteering and having a great time in the process, check our page out!

Journey Club
Journey Club is a group-based educational program for children ages 5-13 that have a parent or grandparent with MS. Children and parents meet in separate, facilitated groups to talk about issues related to MS. This is an opportunity for both parents and children to share their concerns, dispel misunderstandings and myths about MS, and learn about MS together with the focus on improving family relationships. It will also address some of the struggles and difficulties of parenting with MS.  The program is offered by the Calgary Chapter and will likely be running in the fall at a cost of $25 per family.

MS Society Summer Camp
This summer, children and teens (ages 7-19) with a diagnosis of MS from all across Canada will again be invited to apply to the MS Society of Canada Summer Adventure Camp, an all-expenses paid, week-long camp situated in Perth, Ontario, from August 9th-15th, 2008.  The accessible Easter Seals Camp Merrywood will feature activities such as sailing, arts & crafts, kayaking, drama and more.  While nurses from the Hospital for Sick Children’s Paediatric clinic will be at the camp, there will be no MS-specific programming.  Instead, camp participants will step away from their daily lives with MS for a fun, memorable summer adventure.  Stay tuned for information about how to apply in spring 2008 by checking the MS Society website www.mssociety.ca or by calling 1-866-922-6065.
