What’s New

Jayman will be Hitting Hard for MS this season
with help from the Calgary Flames

For every regular season hit, $100 will be donated
towards helping those impacted by MS

Calgary, AB – October 15, 2014 – Jayman is once again Hitting Hard for MS in partnership with the Calgary Flames to benefit and raise awareness for Albertans living with multiple sclerosis.  For every regular season hit, Jayman will donate $100 to the MS Society of Canada. The last program ran from 2007-2009 and raised over $175,000.

Fighting MS by raising funds for the MS Society has always been an important cause for the team at Jayman.  Three generations of the Westman family have been impacted by neurological or autoimmune disorders as well as friends and family of many Jayman team members.

“We are acutely aware of the effects MS has on an individual and a family, and are passionate about making life better for people living with MS,” says Careen Chrusch Director, Marketing at Jayman. “As one of Alberta’s biggest and most respected builders we want to help our friends, families and our communities. Supporting the MS Society through this program is just one way we can help those affected by this disease.”

A running total of the Jayman donations will be featured on the video board matrix at each regular season game and tweeted at $10,000 increments so fans can see how much the Flames have helped Jayman raise to end MS.

“We are proud to partner with a community leader like Jayman to create a charitable fundraising initiative that ties directly to the on-ice action,” said Jim Bagshaw, VP Advertising/Marketing for the Calgary Flames. “The Flames are committed to a hard work ethic which will provide fundraising results to benefit MS research throughout the entire hockey season.”

Alberta has one of the highest rates of MS in the world with over 14,000 Albertans currently living with MS.

“MS is Alberta’s disease,” says Darrel Gregory, Director, Southern Region, for the MS Society of Canada – Alberta & Northwest Territories Division. “We are excited that Jayman and the Calgary Flames have once again stepped up to be leaders in our community in the fight to end MS.”
