Support services will vary depending on where you live.
Support counselling
Counselling and consultation for persons with MS,
their families and friends.
Individual advocacy
Staff and/or
volunteers are available
to support, empower,
and/or act on behalf
of an individual
who has MS and their
families.
Community referral
We can help you with referrals to appropriate
community agencies.
Peer support
We help bring together a person with
MS and a volunteer with MS who can offer support. They meet regularly (in person, over the phone, or
both) to explore issues and share experiences and insights about living with
MS.
Friendly visitation
Sometimes volunteers visit people living
with MS who have difficulty leaving their home. Call for more information.
Hospital visits
Staff and/or volunteers visit people with MS
in the hospital.

and education for people living with MS, their friends, and
families.
Support Groups
Support groups meet regularly in the following locations:

- Medicine Hat
- Red Deer
- St. Paul

Self Help Groups
Self help groups meet in the following locations:
- Cold Lake/Lakeland
- Fort McMurray
- Peace River
- Tofield
- Yellowknife
Significant Other/Partners of Persons with MS Support
Group
Self-help group designed for spouses and significant others
of individuals with MS.
Teen Club/Kids Club
These programs provide opportunities for teens or children
whose parent has MS to interact as well as to learn about MS.

Recreation and social programs are provided to people
with MS to enhance their quality of life.
Recreation Programs
Tai chi, yoga, bowling, massage therapy, physical enhancement,
aquasize, hypnotherapy, disabled sailing, Watson Lodge camping
groups.
Social Programs
Summer Camps, Pen Pals, Caregiver Retreat.
Social Events
Picnics, tours, holiday parties, lunch socials.
