Gear up to Fundraise!

Each RONA MS Bike Tour participant commits to raising at least $250 to fight the devastating effects of multiple sclerosis. All cyclists will be required to turn in the $250 fundraising commitment on or before June 26th, 2010 (NB tour) or July 24th, 2010 (NS tour) to participate in the Tour. To get you started, here are some tools and tips to make your fundraising effort a success!

Sample Fundraising Letters letter

Easy ways to raise the fundraising minimum:
Be committed.
Start by sponsoring yourself using the online fundraising system. Your potential donors will recognize your commitment and be encouraged to support you.

Use the online fundraising system.
It's easy, quick and your donors will be recognized immediately in your fundraising graph.

Post a pledge sheet on your door (or wall) at work.
Your co-workers may become competitive when they see how others in the office are supporting you.
Conduct a letter writing campaign.
Personalize your fundraising letter using the sample letters above and mail it to everyone you can think of: friends, relatives, co-workers, etc. Also, give them a pledge deadline.
Make a list of the people you can ask for donations.
If you limit those you ask, you limit the amount of money you will raise. It's a well known fact that some people give just because they were asked.

Ask your employer for a matching donation.
Meet with your human resources department to discuss matching gifts programs. Often if the company doesn't have a formal matching gifts program, they will still support your efforts financially.
