Joanne Gum

In 1990, Joanne signed up to participate in the first Vancouver MS Bike Tour. Since then, she has participated in every Vancouver MS Bike Tour and has raised countless dollars over the years. Through her involvement with the ride, Joanne also became a volunteer.

Joanne’s volunteering was primarily limited to assisting with the Bike Tour during the early years of her involvement, however, after she retired from teaching in 2003, she decided to give more of her time to the MS Society.

She has become one of several regular and extremely valuable office volunteers. Joanne is always willing to help out and assist with any task that needs completion. Her abundance of caring and genuine interest is making a huge difference in our office for staff and the other volunteers.

Joanne enjoys the social aspect of working with MS Society staff and other volunteers and believes it is important to give back to the community through volunteering.
