Holiday Gift Wrap Shift Supervisor

Purpose

To provide leadership and supervision to volunteer gift wrappers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional and efficient customer service
  • Work with and lead a team of Gift Wrap Volunteers on your shift
    Communicate with Gift Wrap Coordinator before and after your shift
  • Carry out opening and/or closing duties as set out by the Gift Wrap
  • Coordinator which include; cash handling, filling out bank deposits, signing Gift Wrap Volunteers in/out, organizing the daily supply stocking of the booth.

Skills, Attitudes, and Knowledge Required

  • Previous cash handling experience required
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability tmake decisions quickly with little or no supportive information
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills; the ability to multitask
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Enjoy team work
  • Due to space limitations, must be physically able to stand for entire shift
  • Previous supervisory experience is considered an asset

Training & Orientation

  • Group Orientation – attend one of these sessions:
    • Tuesday, November 16th from 6-7:30 pm
    • Wednesday, November 17th from 6-7:30 pm.
    • Sunday, November 21st from noon to 1:30 pm
  • One on one support from Gift Wrap Coordinator

Time Commitment

A variety of 4-5 hour shifts are available from Nov.26 - Dec. 24. Should be able tcommit tone shift (either opening or closing) one day a week for each week within the dates of this event.

Supervisory Relationships/liaison

You are supervised by and liaise with the Gift Wrap Coordinator.

Authority/Decision Making

Must be comfortable making decisions and problem solving with minimal supervision.

  • Show up to your shift on time
  • Provide professional and efficient customer service
  • Wrap gifts and accept donations according to pre-determined donation guidelines

  • Previous cash handling experience required
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Ability to follow instruction and work with limited supervision
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills; the ability to multitask
  • Creative
  • Enjoy working as part of a team
  • Due to space limitations, must be physically able to stand for entire shift

Training & Orientation

  • Group Orientation – attend one of these sessions:
    • Tuesday, November 16th from 6-7:30 pm

    • Sunday, November 21st from noon to 1:30 pm
