TeamMS is a complimentary program to the Enerflex MS Walk, MS Bike Tour and other fundraising events. Every year in Canada thousands of participants join together to take the TeamMS challenge and walk, run, cycle or golf on behalf of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada.

We invite you to join with at least three of your friends, family and co-workers to create your own team. Experience the camaraderie and excitement of TeamMS while helping to further the fight against multiple sclerosis. For our corporate partners it's a chance to socialize outside of the office while promoting company unity, pride and team spirit.

Our TeamMS staff will reduce the demand on your time and resources with on-going support and motivational activities and incentives. This includes:

  • Establishing TeamMS goals, plans and activities
  • Help registering your team
  • Provide tools to assist with recruitment and fundraising efforts including a Team Captain's Handbook full of hints, tips and advice
  • VIP treatment including team captain gifts, team photos and the opportunity to win great team prizes and awards

For more information about TeamMS, call 403-250-7090 or email TeamMS@mscalgary.org

TeamMS Corporate Program

TeamMS is an employee program promoting community involvement that is being implemented in companies of all sizes across Canada. It enables your associates to create teams with their co-workers, families, friends, suppliers, distributors, etc. and participate in fun-filled walking and cycling events where they and your customers work and live.

As a corporate TeamMS partner, you are associating with one of the best known charitable organizations in the country. Through its numerous client programs, the MS Society of Canada supports tens of thousands of Canadians impacted by MS while at the same time, funds ground-breaking research into the cause and cure of the disease. Team up with the MS Society and help create a future free of MS.

Four easy steps to a successful corporate TeamMS program:

  1. Announce senior level endorsement
  2. Designate team captains
  3. Develop and promote an employee incentive plan
  4. Host an employee "kickoff" event

Similar to any company social outing, TeamMS is an exciting, motivating opportunity for employees to bond and be publicly recognized for their involvement within the community.

TeamMS features and benefits:

  • Builds teamwork, unity and pride with your staff
  • A fun, social opportunity that promotes health, fitness and employee well-being
  • Boosts your company's visibility and profile in the community
  • Enhances corporate reputation through association with a credible, national and bilingual charity
  • Is employee-driven and cost-effective to execute
  • Allows employees to take an active role in supporting MS services and research
  • Exclusive team captain and team prizes

Recruitment and Motivation Tools

Here are some ideas:

  • Start early and set goals for your Team's size and pledge totals with deadlines.
  • It's important to ASK, ASK, ASK! Ask anyone and everyone to be on your team. ASK your friends, family, neighbours and co-workers to recruit their family members and friends to join the team. Even if they say no, odds are they'll give you a donation.
  • Identify a co-captain and/or set up a committee who can assist you with recruitment efforts.
  • Hold a kick-off lunch in the office as a fundraising and Team building opportunity. Your MS staff contact may be available to attend, show videos and, of course, sign up everyone that comes. Get other company departments or offices involved for a friendly competition.
  • Build a pyramid. Ask each person who joins your team to recruit at least 3 other team members. If you start with only 3 team members, and they each recruit 3 more team members, and those people each recruit 3 new team members- you'll have 39 team members!
  • Devise your own early bird and top fundraising incentives for your own team (lunch with the boss!, prize draws and raffles, day off work)
  • Create team captain business cards. Include your name, team name, the event, your contact information and our mission.
  • Make team T-shirts and wear them out for team dinners.
  • Invite individual participants to join your team.
  • Involve the community: ask local business to post team flyers and posters.
