Fundraising Events
Join
us in the fight against MS and get involved in one or more
of our fun and rewarding fundraising events and programs!
Throughout the
year, the MS Society
Central Alberta Chapter
organizes events that raise needed
funds for services and cure research, while creating valuable
public awareness about MS.
Super
Cities WALK for MS
The Super Cities WALK for MS is our largest
pledge-based fundraising event with over 70,000 participants
and volunteers taking part in 160 locations across Canada each
year. In 2006, Central Alberta WALKers raised almost $115,000!
This year, we're determined to set another new record. Everything
you need to know about being a participant or volunteer at
this exciting and rewarding event can be found
here.
RONA
MS Bike Tour
The
RONA MS Bike Tour is a pledge-based fundraising event that
provides Canadians with the opportunity to ride
through scenic and often spectacular parts of the country.
All RONA MS Bike Tours have common elements: food, accommodations
on two-day bike tours, entertainment, road support crews, and
awards for fundraising. Last year, the Central Alberta RONA MS
Bike Tour raised almost $100,000. To find out how you can help
us reach even greater goals, click here.
MS
Read-A-Thon
The MS Read-A-Thon is a pledge-based fundraising program
that is easy to organize, fun for children and promotes reading
skills
that will last a lifetime. The program teaches elementary school
children about MS, disability awareness and the
importance of student literacy and recreational reading. To learn
more about this excellent event and how to bring it to your local
school, click

Carnation Campaign
On every Mother's Day
weekend since 1976, the MS Society has raised funds across Canada through
the sales of carnations. Here in Central Alberta, carnations are sold at
a
number
of
participating
venues--at malls, Wal-Mart, Zellers and Eastview IGA in Red Deer; at Wal-Mart
and IGA in Stettler; Cobbs in Sylan Lake; Farmers Market in Eckville; and
CO-OP in Rocky Mountain House. You can even pre-order and we will deliver
right to your office. For more information, contact
us, or click
here for more on the history of our
longest-running fundraising event.
100
Holes of Golf
Are
you up to the challenge? Each September, dedicated participants
tee it up at the Spirit Creek Golf and Country Club in
Red Deer. Five and a half rounds later, the golfers forget
their
exhaustion when they realize they've raised tens of thousands
of dollars for a great cause. For more information, contact
us. For a look back at the incredibly successful 2006 version
of this event, download this slideshow.
