Chapter Activities

Welcome to our chapter activities page! We have a lot of activities to offer our membership on an ongoing basis. Below is a brief description of the regular activities we have available. At times, a unique activity sneaks it's way into the agenda such as shopping trips to The Devonshire Mall at Christmas, A Night at the Theatre, Fun Nights at the Chapter Office, etc. You can contact the office to inquire of upcoming unique events or better yet, make a point to checkout our quarterly (February, May, September & November) Chapter Newsletters which can be found in our site.

Check-out our "END OF SUMMER UPDATE"
for relevent and fun activities!
    • "PARENT SUPPORT GROUP" - This is a new support group we are offering to all membership with children up to the age of 16 years. It convenes the last Tuesday of the month with a Summer break during July and August. The meetings will be held in the mornings in an open forum format. If interested in attending, please contact DoraLee Bugeja, the Parent Support Group meeting Facilitator, at (519) 969-6461 to register or to obtain further information. The specific times of the meetings will be announced upon registration.

    • "AN ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE" Support Group Meeting - Kim Dunmore-Laporte, RN, Director of Education will be the facilitator of our "NEW" Support Group called, “An Attitude of Gratitude”.  This new support group started in early January of 2008.  It will follow the 2nd & last Tuesday of every month from 7pm - 9pm.  Some of you already know Kim from her education presentations and hopefully some of you will get to know her if you don’t already!  Kim is more than qualified as she not only has the medical experience but she has been a support group facilator for 10 years in the past! This support group is for both the newly diagnosed as well as those who have been diagnosed for years.  Kim is looking forward to meeting, sharing and leading this group. Again this and any of our other group meetings are held in strict confidence unless you give your permission if outside intervention is needed. Please call the office at (519) 977-0401 for more information.

"DAY AWAY PROGRAM" - This is a program held every other Wednesday (September through to June) where it gives the chapter membership an opportunity to meet with other chapter membersfor the day, for a nice lunch, to get a manicure, to have their hair cut, to have a healing touch session and to even venture out of the office on occassion for a day trip!

    • "AGM" Annual General Meeting - This is held towards the end of May each year when there are chapter elections to fill Board Positions. With our Year changing from August 31st to December 31st, it's much easier to present Annual Financial Reports as our fiscal year co-insides with the Calendar Year! The meeting is concluded with a delicious luncheon and refreshments.

    • "ANNUAL WINTERFEST " - This is held in December and combines the fun of our chapter picnics and children's Christmas Parties in the past!. It is a fun day for the whole family which includes some kind of Entertainment, a Light Lunch & Refreshments. Our 1st Winterfest was held in December of 2010 with an Adult/Children's Magician and a light Lunch. It was received very well by all and everyone had a fantastic time! Fun is had by all!
