3rd Annual Ride for MS

RIDERS RAISE $6,936.42 FOR MS
Planning for our 2012 Ride for MS Event is now underway!
On behalf of the MS Society of Canada (Windsor-Essex Chapter), the Lone Wolf Clubhouse motorcyclists want to give a special thank you to the Dominion Bar & Grill, A&W Dougall, Bedells, Molson’s, Pepsi, Biz X, Blackburn Radio (ROCK 100.7FM), Billy’s Pub & Grill, CAW Local 444, Reflections Motorcycle Restorations, Tecumseh Roadhouse, Montanna's Cookhouse & Kelsey's, Leather King, Average Joe's Sports Bar, The Car Barn and all those who participated in the Ride for MS - Poker Run, on Sunday, September 18, 2011.
And, to all the MS Volunteers who helped with the setup and assisted with Registration, and the all important Poker Stops... THANKS! Today, we all worked together as a team to put on a great event to benefit the MS Society. There were many who raised funds by collecting pledges, by participating in the enjoyment of the day; riding on a fantastic route throughout Essex County and those of you joining us for dinner, all for a good cause. Each and every one of you is a key to making this event a great success! Thanks go to all of you! For those new to this annual event, Shar Good (co-creator) was first diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1985, her husband Tom and friend, Mike Bechard (co-creator) have supported her dream by contributing in a personal way, in creating a fundraising event to improve the quality of life for those suffering with MS. This special day, motorcyclists showed their true community spirit resulting in not only a financial success, but grasping the opportunity to meet and understand more about our fellow citizens who are living with MS here in Windsor. The $6,936.42 raised this year will be used to assist those with MS in a number of ways; assistance with the purchase of much needed assisted devices and a host of special programs that enhance the quality of their lives. Our mission by way of this third-party event is to enable people affected by multiple sclerosis to enhance their quality of life, in raising funds for local services, and support research towards finding a cure for multiple sclerosis. Even with a sluggish economy, the door and raffle prizes which were generously donated by the community, are for good reason and along with the riders, are what keeps this event alive. The raffle prizes, 50/50 and silent auction of some prints generously donated by Reflections Motorcycle Restorations & Great Canadian Vacation & Coach Lines, were open for everyone to bid on. With the growing success of this year's event, the local MS chapter and the Lone Wolf Clubhouse event organizers is already looking forward to seeing everyone again in 2012 for an even bigger outcome!
We really appreciate it and hope we can do this again as it was great seeing everyone having fun and enjoying ourselves as one group. So riders mark your calendars for the 4th Annual Ride for MS—Sunday, September 16, 2012 and let’s help "End MS".
