Fundraising
Events
We have a few Annual Fund Raising Events that you may or may not
be aware of, which are listed below. In addition to the fund
raising events listed below, we have a number of Third Party
Fund Raising Events throughout the year. This is where individuals
and companies from our community have their won fund raising
event to raise funds for the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada
(Windsor-Essex Chapter). These funds help us to operate and
provide the programs to our membership but more importantly,
it helps us to have the funds to assist with the purchase of
special mobility equipment needed by the individual affected
with MS as well as for funds to go for RESEARCH, to irraticate
this disease.
It
is our mission to be a leader
in finding a cure for multiple sclerosis and
enabling people affected by MS to enhance their quality of life.
"ANNUAL
FUND RAISING EVENTS"
- "MS WALK " - This is an annual walk event which is sponsored by local as well as
national sponsors. This is a fun day for everyone, filled
with exercise for yourself, family and friends! This event
is our largest fund raising event which is supported immensly
by our community. This year's Walk for MS is on APRIL 22, 2012! Register to have a TEAM PHOTO taken which will be given to each Team Captain to make copies for those who want one for a keepsake! All Team Photos will also be added to our Online Photo Album at PictureTrail.com. Hope to see you at this event, walking and having fun with the food and planned activities of the day! "CARNATION
CAMPAIGN" - The Carnation has been the flower of choice
to represent the hope for and research to find a cure for
Multiple Sclerosis! The Carnation Campaign has been held
in conjunction with "Mother's Day".
What better way to give Mom a bouquet of flowers and at
the same time help to find a "Cure for MS"? Our campaign
is getting larger by the year and will hopefully, with the
support from the community, have street sales across Essex
County on the Saturday prior to Mother's Day!

"CANS
FOR CHARITY" - On-going event sponsored by the MS Society
(Windsor-Essex Chapter) with its membership and others who
choose to participate. Please see the “FUNDRAISING” page
of our Online Newsletter or call the office at (519) 977-0401
or (519) 977-9221 for more information. How it works is if the
labeled MS SOCIETY OF CANADA can is sitting where you would
drop a loonie into it, loonie/week = $52/year, a loonie/day
= $365/year! If you would like to have a "Can for Charity"
of your own, please call our office at the above number
and we can arrange it!
"IN-HOUSE
EVENTS" - Our chapter conducts various in-house fund
raising events throughout the year. For example, an Avon
Product, Crafts, Christmas Time items and more! More information
on these individual events are announced in our chapter's
Online Newsletter or you can contact our office at (519)

"THIRD PARTY FUND RAISING EVENTS"
- "THE
ANNUAL PAT THRASHER GOLF TOURNAMENT" - This has been a sold out event,
organized by the MS Society (Windsor-Essex Chapter) and the Thrasher Family, held in July, to benefit the Windsor-Essex
County Chapter of the MS Society of Canada. Again, more
details on this event and registrations are accepted via
the announcement in our chapter's May newsletter.
- "RIDE FOR MS" - MARK YOUR CALENDARS! -
The 4th annual event is scheduled for Sunday, September 16th, 2012, sponsored by the Lone Wolf Clubhouse along with Dominion Bar & Grill and A&W Dougall, with additional sponsors to be announced at a later date. The starting and ending location is Dominion Bar & Grill on Howard Avenue, LaSalle, Ontario. All motorcyclist are welcome! There will be DINNER ONLY Tickets available as there was with the 3rd Annual Ride for MS. Everyone is guaranteed to have a great time for a good cause! More details on registration & etc. will be posted on the "Lone Wolf Clubhouse Website" and here on our website on our "Community" page as soon as available.

- "OTHER
EVENTS & GOLF TOURNAMENTS" - Throughout the year, there
are a number of organizations and businesses and individuals
who run golf tournamnets and other events to benefit the
MS Society of Canada (Windsor-Essex Chapter). If you would
like to organize an event of your own, just contact Jackie
Putterman at 519-977-9221 for her assistance. She would
be more than happy to assist you. She has a direct email

contact.
The above are a sampling of scheduled fund raising events at
the time of updating our site. We do have other unique events
that are conducted and are announced in our chapter Online Newsletters
which you can view with a simple click on the link provided
at the top and bottom of the page, as they are scheduled. You
