Governance

The MS Society of Canada is accountable to persons living with MS and to those who support the MS Society in its dual mission of ending MS and enabling those affected by MS to improve their quality of life.

The MS Society is a member-based organization. The members steer the direction of the organization by exercising their right to vote at the national AGM to democratically elect the national board of directors. The national board is responsible for the stewardship of the organization and to ensure that the mission and vision of the MS Society are carried out in the best interests of persons with MS.

The MS Society of Canada is incorporated as a single organization. It is structured in three levels: national, regional (divisions) and local (chapters). The Quebec division is incorporated separately to enable the division to receive grants from the government of Quebec. The MS Society of Canada is governed through by-laws, policies and the national board of directors.
