Fundraising Ideasline

Here are just a few ideas to assist in your fundraising endeavours:

Send an e-mail or on your voice-mail leave the message "I am cycling in the RONA MS Bike Tour. You can make a pledge by leaving your name and number"

  1. Ask your company to match the donations made by employees.

  2. Pledge sheets - never leave home without them!

  3. Hold Casual or Dress Down Days for MS in your office .

  4. Place coin boxes at businesses in your neighbourhood.

  5. Pledge yourself...it demonstrates your personal commitment to the cause.

  6. If you're a member of an association, club or other group, ask for support. Ask to be placed on the agenda for the next meeting and announce your plans to ride for MS.

  7. Write letters to people with whom you do business.

  8. Remember to contact people who donated in previous years and ask them to increase their pledge.

    How to start a letter writing campaign
     Sample letters

    · Phone the MS Society and ask for a testimonial. We get thank you notes from cyclists all the time and can provide you with an anonymous quote. Include the testimonial in your letter

    · Build your mailing list. Make it a goal to increase your mailing by 10 to 20 contacts each year.

    · Send letters to people in your address book, your Christmas card list and people who live on your street.

    · Write a personal note on the letter.you will have greater success.

    · Insert a scanned photograph from last year's event, one of yourself if possible. Contact us as we may have a photo of you from the previous year.

    · Ask for a specific amount.

    · Tell them why you ride.do you have a personal connection?
