Survey on Reimbursement of New Use of Botox to Treat Bladder Symptoms
Botox (botulinum toxin) is a muscle-relaxing medication used to decrease spasticity related to multiple sclerosis and other neurological conditions. Recent clinical trials have seen positive results in the use of Botox injection (approximately every nine months) in treating certain bladder symptoms including overactive bladder.
In December, Health Canada approved the use of Botox to treat bladder problems in people with MS and spinal cord injury. In February, the MS Society of Canada will have the opportunity to provide input to the national agency that makes recommendations to provincial and territorial drug program decision makers.
To ensure the views of Canadians living with MS are truly represented, we are asking people with MS and caregivers to complete the following survey. Responses to the survey will help inform the MS Society input to the Common Drug Review of Botox injection as a treatment for neurogenic bladder. Your voice matters.
Please click here to complete the survey by Friday, February 3, 2012.
