Government & Community Relations

Accessibility
The Social Action Committee has made improving accessibility for all one of its priorities. It is currently working with several other organizations to develop a program that will assess the accessibility of businesses and services. It has also participated in consultations on accessibility and has written to both government and private business to express concerns about access problems. This section contains some of the letters we have sent on this issue.

Letter to the Mayor of Winnipeg regarding problems with keeping streets accessible in winter, April 2005

Letter to the city of Winnipeg regarding planned new street signage, April 2004

Letter to Medical Arts building owners regarding lack of access to clinic, November 2003

Letter to The Forks/North Portage Partnership regarding access problem with new parkade at The Forks, July 2003

Letter to City of Winnipeg Access Advisory Committee, February 2003
