7th Annual WAMS Gala Luncheon - Friday, April 27, 2012
Royal York Hotel, Toronto
900 guests will come together at the prestigious Royal York Hotel for an event like no other. Each year WAMS honours a woman who has made a personal and professional commitment to ending MS. Past honourees include: Janice Fukakusa, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer of the Royal Bank of Canada (2011) and Phyllis Yaffe, former CEO of Alliance Atlantis (2010). This year WAMS is proud to honour Sylvia Chrominska, Group Head, Global Human Resources and Communications of Scotiabank for her outstanding contributions in the not for profit sector, and in particular her work with WAMS.
Left to right: Phyllis Yaffe, Chair of WAMS in Canada and Janice Fukakusa, 2011 WAMS Honouree and 2012 WAMS Gala Luncheon Honouary Co-Chair.
We also welcome explorer, filmmaker and global water advocate Alexandra Cousteau as the guest speaker. Granddaughter of Jacques Yves-Cousteau, Alexandra is a National Geographic Emerging Explorer and producer of more than 80 films about critical water issues. Committed to engaging people in conversations about the interconnectivity of our water resources; Alexandra Cousteau has been honoured as an "Earth Trustee" by the UN, named a "Principle Voice" by CNN International, and regularly earns global recognition including being named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and an Advisor to the nation of Qatar's QScience initiative.
