Get your students excited about reading and make a difference in your community with one of our fun and easy to run programs!

Program Options and Dates 2012 - 2013

We are offering both the traditional 2-3 week MS Read-A-Thon and the 1 day MS Read and Walk. (Schools can choose either option.) For the MS Read and Walk the school determines the distance students will walk/run and the amount of time the students will read in a day. Students can then collect pledges or donations for this event and will receive awards based on their fundraising amounts. Please contact the Kamloops and Area Chapter for more information about either of these programs.

Kick-Off Assembly can be:

  1. Society Hosted A MS representative conducts a 20-30 minute assembly.
  2. School Hosted An opportunity to run a self-directed, in-house assembly.

Session dates for the Society Hosted Kick-Off stream are:

Fall: October and November
Winter: January and February
Spring: March and April

Fall registration promotion: Register by September 30th 2012 for any session in 2012/2013 and be entered to win a $50 Scholastic Canada Gift Certificate, a subscription to Owl, Chickadee or Chirp Magazine and a Pete the Cat book! Also, every school contact who registers their school by September 30th will receive a $5 Starbucks Gift Card!

Currently in BC, the MS-Read-A-thon is unavailable outside of the Kamloops and Area Chapter region. If your school is outside of this area, you can contact the Kamloops and Area Chapter office for more information.
