Our strategic plan sets the new chapter in our journey, with a mission to connect and empower the MS community to create positive change. Change that brings us closer to a world free of MS.

Dr. Samuel Ludwin – A Pioneer in our MS Community

It is with great sadness that we share with you the news of Dr. Samuel Ludwin’s passing.

Dr. Ludwin devoted his professional life to studying degenerative diseases of the brain and nervous system -- making important contributions to research advances in multiple sclerosis.

His connection with the MS Society of Canada and the international MS community spanned over 35 years, including being a past chair of the MS Society’s medical advisory committee, and a director on the national board. He was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal for his pioneering role in the development of the MS Society and our MS research efforts, including providing leadership in the success of our $20 million fundraising campaign for the endMS Research and Training Network.

Dr. Ludwin was known for his generosity and grace in his efforts to improve the lives of those affected by MS, and we will all miss him. Our thoughts go to Dr. Ludwin’s family through this difficult time.
