Financial Information

The MS Society is transparent and accountable. Our important work as leaders in the search for a cure and in our efforts to improve the quality of life of people with MS requires vigilance and strong financial oversight. This involves the stewardship of donations entrusted to us by generous donors, the implementation of strategies to generate efficiencies in all aspects of our work, and the prudent management of investment assets and risk.

Financial Statements

An independent Canadian accounting firm, PricewaterhouseCoopers, audits the MS Society’s finances annually. Our complete audited financial statements are available to our supporters and to the public below or by calling 1-866-922-6065. An abridged version is available in our Impact Report.

Ethical Fundraising and Financial Accountability

The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada believes that the support of our donors and volunteers makes possible our ability to deliver on our mission: To connect and empower the MS community to create positive change. It is our relationship with our stakeholders that allow us to best serve those living with MS. We are grateful for your support and thank you for it.

The MS Society is committed to accountability and transparency. Our fundraising culture is centered on the donor and ensures that the funds you raise and the dollars you donate are used to impact people whose lives have been touched by MS. The MS Society’s voluntary participation in the Imagine Canada Standards Program reinforces to people with MS, members, donors, volunteers, board members, corporate partners, and other stakeholders that we are dedicated to ethical fundraising and financial accountability. The Standards program replaces Imagine Canada’s Ethical Fundraising and Financial Accountability Code Program.

If you have any questions about our compliance with the Imagine Canada Standards program, please contact us at info@mssociety.ca or 1-866-922-6065. You can also register a complaint with Imagine Canada. For more information on the Standards Program, please visit imaginecanada.ca/standards.

Ethical Practices: Partnering with Fundraisers and Volunteers

As a member of the Imagine Canada Standards Program, the MS Society of Canada is partnering with volunteers, event participants and fundraisers to adhere to ethical practices in fundraising.

We hope that as our partners in fundraising ethically, that you will:

  • act with fairness, integrity, and in accordance with all applicable laws;
  • cease solicitation of a prospective donor who states that he or she does not wish to be solicited;
  • disclose immediately to the MS Society of Canada any actual or apparent conflict of interest; and
  • not accept donations for purposes that are inconsistent with the MS Society of Canada’s mission.
