Dr. Lisa Walker will address some of the ways that multiple sclerosis can impact people’s thinking, behaviour and emotions. Strategies to cope with these challenges will be discussed, including positive lifestyle strategies to maximize cognitive health.

Dr. Walker is a Clinical Neuropsychologist at both the Ottawa Hospital and in private practice at Ricci and Associates. She is a Clinician Investigator with the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute where she has a research program evaluating cognitive health in multiple sclerosis. Dr. Walker's research focuses on the cognitive impact of stem cell therapies, assessment and longitudinal evaluation of cognition, the relationship between cognition and both structural and functional neuroimaging variables, as well as cognitive fatigue.

John Butterill will provide a presentation on Virtual Photo Walks: Their mission is to enable those who are immobilized by disability, illness or age to escape their isolation and re-engage with society virtually. Virtual Photo Walks is a cause that uses smart phones and video conferencing to enable people isolated by illness or disability to travel the world in real time.
