Dr. Lisa Walker will address some of the ways that multiple sclerosis can impact people’s thinking, behaviour and emotions. Strategies to cope with these challenges will be discussed, including positive lifestyle strategies to maximize cognitive health.

Dr. Walker is a Clinical Neuropsychologist at both the Ottawa Hospital and in private practice at Ricci and Associates. She is a Clinician Investigator with the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute where she has a research program evaluating cognitive health in multiple sclerosis. Dr. Walker's research focuses on the cognitive impact of stem cell therapies, assessment and longitudinal evaluation of cognition, the relationship between cognition and both structural and functional neuroimaging variables, as well as cognitive fatigue.

Maheen Ceizar is the Research Programs Manager at the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, where she advances our vision of a world free of MS by implementing, managing and evaluating the research programs. She oversees the annual grants awards and competition and is integral to aligning our research funding programs and activities with the new strategic plan, including an enhanced focus on measuring the impact of our research investments on the MS Community.
