Leeds Grenville Wellness Symposium 2019

The MS Society of Leeds Grenville is excited to bring you our first Wellness Symposium.

This is a free event open to the community. Whether you are living with MS, a caregiver, living with another illness, have mobility or cognitive disabilities or simply interested to learn more all are welcome.

We are very pleased to have Dr. Lisa Walker as our Keynote Speaker. Dr. Walker is a Clinical Neuropsychologist at the Ottawa Hospital.
Dr. Walker will focus on Cognitive Health in MS.
You will understand how MS can impact: thinking, behaviour, emotions
-Learn what to do when faced with these challenges
-Learn how to maximize brain health.
-Learn tips from a cognitive rehab program

Next we have Dr. Lara Pilutti, an Assistant Professor in the Interdisciplinary School of Health Sciences at the University of Ottawa.

Dr. Pilutti will focus on A general overview of the safety and benefits of exercise for people with multiple sclerosis·
-Current guidelines for exercise, along with strategies for incorporating activity into daily life·
-New research in exercise and multiple sclerosis will be highlighted

Lastly Francie Bingham will talk to us about the benefits of chair yoga and walk us through a demonstration.

Doors open at 9:30AM and our speakers will start promptly at 10AM.  This is a free event open to the community.
