Summary: Changes in thinking and memory are common in MS and can be a challenge to everyday functioning, quality of life, and independence. This webinar will provide an overview on measurement of cognitive changes in MS and their underlying brain changes. Risk and protective factors for MS brain health will be summarized, with an outlook on strategies to address them.

Speaker: Dr. Fujiwara is Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Alberta. She is a member of the Neuroscience and Mental Health Institute and the MS Center, Faculty of Medicine, University of Alberta. Her research interest is the intersection between cognition and emotion and her work includes behavioural and neuroimaging studies in health and disease. She has worked in different academic/research locations in Germany (University of Bielefeld and University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf) and Canada (Rotman Research Institute at Baycrest, Toronto).
