The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada is an organization founded by volunteers and continually fueled by the initiative and dedication of thousands of volunteers across the country. Here are some examples of exceptional volunteers and their impact in furthering our mission to be leaders in finding a cure for multiple sclerosis and enabling people affected by MS to enhance their quality of life.

Our volunteers are an exciting, dynamic and diverse group of people who share a willingness to contribute their time and talents to #endMS. When and how much they contribute differs from person to person.There are opportunities in all areas of the MS Society at the national, divisional and chapter levels including but not limited to:

Capacity Builders - Ongoing volunteer opportunities in a variety of areas to assist in moving forward toward our mission

  • Programs and services – variety of roles within our peer support programs, including self-help group facilitators, social program volunteers, exercise program facilitators, friendly visiting volunteers, and peer-to-peer support
  • Marketing & Communications – Social media coordinator, photographer/videographer, graphic designer, and public relations support
  • Administration – Data entry volunteer, mailing volunteer, participant/member outreach, and clerical support
  • Community engagement – Chapter board or advisory committee member, rural engagement volunteer, MS Ambassador, Burgers to Beat MS volunteer, and government relations

Event Volunteers - Assist with the planning and execution of the MS Society’s fundraising events, including but not limited to MS Walk and MS Bike

  • Organizing Committee member – Coordinators in first aid, route marshal, participant registration, rest stop, and food Service
  • Event Day Volunteer – rest stop attendant, route marshal, food server, cheerleaders, signage crew, and registration

Knowledge Philanthropy - Using your professional expertise to assist the MS Society with organizational planning and processes
