Racing to End MS

MS Society of Canada’s CMDO, Owen Charters with John Hume Sr.

Team Hume, from Hume Media Inc., will participate in Targa Newfoundland 2014 for their sixth consecutive year in September! Over the past five years, Team Hume has raised $115,000 which has gone towards leading edge research for the MS Society of Canada. This year they have currently raised $20,450 with hopes to reach $25,000 before racetime.

Targa Newfoundland is a 2000 kilometer motorsport race along the beautiful yet challenging Newfoundland coastline. John Hume Sr. has 3 teams racing for 5 days with over 40 stages in their 2004 BMW M3, 2013 MINI GP and most recent addition, a 2006 MINI GP.

They are asking others to cheer them on and “help drive the race to end MS”.  John Hume Sr. and his son, John Hume Jr., share how they are preparing for the big race below and their passion for the competition, “We love doing it. It is something to look forward to all winter and it takes your mind off the world for a week.” The MS Society is grateful for their continued support and the support of the teams sponsors.
