Nova Scotia MS Bike Tour 2015

On July 25 & 26 over 215 cyclists rode between  90 and 140 kilometres from Windsor to Wolfville and back again as a part of the MS Bike - the largest cycling series in North America. The 26th annual Nova Scotia MS Bike Tour, dubbed “Vineyards and Valleys” was a wonderful weekend event that brought people together in the
fight to end MS!

Funds raised from the MS Bike Tour support innovative research into the cause, treatment and cure of MS as well as provide valuable services and programs for Canadians affected by MS. The money raised in Nova Scotia goes towards programs in the province, including helping to fund the research being done by Dr. George Robertson, from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, who is working on ways to slow down disease progression and to improve therapies. Dr. Robertson and his team have developed an extract from the peel of local apples that reduces disease progression in mice with an MS-like disease. This study also looks at possible therapeutic strategies for treating MS through dietary means. Research projects like these give those living with MS hope for the future.

This year, we are happy to announce that our “and counting” total is… $219,990.34 !!
