Volunteer for the Ottawa Mandarin MS Walk


The Ottawa Mandarin MS Walk is just around the corner on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Tunney's Pasture.

The 2017 Mandarin MS Walk check-in and activities will be held in the parking lot at the corner of Parkdale and Goldenrod Driveway.

Volunteers ensure the success of this event - We couldn't do it without you!

Volunteer Orientation Session

The Volunteer Orientation session will take place on Wednesday, April 26 from 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm. The location will be determined at a later date. If you have submitted your application and you have not been assigned your volunteer position please contact us at info.ottawa@mssociety.caor 613-728-1583 ext. 3323.

This orientation is highly recommended for all new volunteers.

Registering is quick and easy! You will need to create a profile the first time you access the website by simply going to the registration page. You will be led through a series of questions to customize your profile and to get the most out of the software. You can then view and sign up for all MS Society opportunities simply by logging in to your profile on Better Impact!

When is the Ottawa Mandarin MS Walk?
Sunday, April 30th, 2017

What time does the MS Walk start?
Check-in begins at 9:00 am; the Run starts at 11:00 am and the Walk starts at 11:10 am.

What time should I arrive for my shift?
All volunteers need to arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of their shift. View/download your position in Volunteer positions section above.

Where do I go when I arrive?
All volunteers must go to volunteer check-in as soon as they get to the site. The volunteer check-in tent will be located outside in the grassy area at the top of Tunney's Pasture Driveway. All volunteers must sign in and sign out.

What do I get when I sign-in?
You will receive your volunteer t-shirt and your name tag when you sign-in. You will also receive additional instructions for your position if necessary.

I am under 18. What do I need to bring?
High school students need to bring their volunteer hours form for the required signature for your volunteer hours.

If it rains or snows will the walk be cancelled?
No. The walk goes rain or shine. Please dress according to the weather.

Can I get volunteer hours for school?
Yes, you can get your volunteer hours for school. Bring your forms with you and they will be signed at the end of your shift.

Is there parking available?
Yes there is lots of parking available around the site. We encourage you to take OC Transpo or car pool as there is limited parking. Take any bus that goes on the Transit way and get off at the Tunney’s Pasture stop.
