Member of Parliament (MP)

The role of the MP is to protect the interests of the people he or she represents. MP's are often asked to raise their constituents' grievances with various government bodies.

Member of Parliament (MPP)

The MPP's office assists constituents to:

  • Access government programs and services
  • Follow-up on constituent problems, which come within the jurisdiction of the government. Referrals are made to other agencies with the expertise to deal with the particular problem
  • Obtain copies of Legislation requested by constituents or find out when a piece of legislation will be passed
  • Potentially raise the profile of an individual case
