Integrated Services for Northern Children (ISNC)

  • Health and Wellness

The Integrated Services for Northern Children (ISNC) program provides outreach services to rural and remote communities across the north such as assessment, consultation and treatment services to children and their families.

Six interdisciplinary teams are linked to rural and remote communities by means of a network of case managers who provide a single point of access and the co-ordination of the program's specialized services.

Each ministry is responsible for the provision of specific specialized services as follows:

  • The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care provides physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech and language therapy to children and youth up to 18 years of age;
  • The Ministry of Children and Youth Services provides psychiatry, psychology, and case management to children up to 18 years of age;
  • The Ministry of Education provides educational assessment and remedial strategies to children up to 21 years of age
