Short Term Disability

Short Term Disability or sickness benefits may be offered through an employer or by private insurance coverage.

  • Usually have 2 week unpaid waiting period
  • Require medical evidence
  • Generally last up to 15 weeks
  • Claimants must deplete short-term benefits before proceeding to Long Term benefits.

Coverage varies greatly with company and policy.
