College of Physiotherapists of Ontario

  • Health and Wellness

The College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (the College) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to regulating the practice of physiotherapy in the public interest. As the largest physiotherapy regulatory body in Canada, the College (previously the Board of Directors of Physiotherapy) has been helping to ensure that patients receive safe, effective physiotherapy care since 1955.

The mandate of the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario is to regulate the practice of physiotherapy in order to protect the public interest. Part of this responsibility involves the handling of complaints made against physiotherapists with a view to ensuring the provision of quality physiotherapy service. The Complaints Committee has no jurisdiction to assess injury or award compensation to complainants. Rather, their role is to determine if the service is professionally and competently rendered.

The College of Physiotherapists of Ontario website allows one to search for registered physiotherapists in one's area.
