Special Assistance Program (SAP) - ATL

    The Special Assistance Program is now closed to new applicants. Current grant recipients will continue to be able to access the Special Assistance Program until 2019.

    The Special Assistance Program is designed to meet essential quality of life needs faced by persons with MS.

    What is funded?

    • Incontinence and catheter products
    • Medical alarm services

    How much funding is available?
    The SAP funds an annual maximum of $600 ($50 per month) per applicant. A combined annual total of $600 is available per applicant through the Special Assistance Program and Equipment Provision Program.

    Is there an application deadline?
    There is not an official deadline; however, once funds have been depleted, the program will close until the following fiscal year. Our fiscal year runs from January through December. Applications will not be accepted once the program has closed.

    How do I apply?
    Contact the Atlantic Division for an application package or to clarify your application needs.

    All applications must be accompanied by:

    1. Completed and signed application form
    2. Confirmation of MS diagnosis for first time applicants
    3. A written recommendation for:
    • Incontinence supplies by a family physician, neurologist, physiatrist, nurse, occupational therapist or physiotherapist.
    • Medical alarm services by a family physician, neurologist, physiatrist, nurse, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, social worker, or case worker.
