Peel-Dufferin Chapter Support Groups

  • Peer Support

The Peel-Dufferin Chapter offers a variety of self-help groups meeting in various locations throughout Peel Region and Dufferin County. Staff are also available to assist in forming new groups.

The Self-help code of conduct and the self-help confidentiality statement, are required reading when participating in MS Society, self-help groups.

Peel-Dufferin Chapter self-help groups:

Social Self-Help Group

This social self-help group is a monthly day time group for people living with MS to discuss issues, enjoy friendly conversation, and to build a social network. This group may not solve every problem that a person is facing, but provides realistic support, encouragement, and hope! It is one of the most valued services the Mississauga Chapter offers.

Meets the First Thursday of each month, from 10:00-Noon.

Will be on hiatus for July and Aug 2019  
Guys with MS This informal male-focused self-help group serves men diagnosed with MS
in Peel Region. As an unstructured support system, this group meets monthly at
a centrally located restaurant. Guys should expect to gain a social network, find valuable supports and practical information.
Meets the last Tuesday of each month from 7:00-9:00pm.
Caregiver Support Group This self-help group is exclusively for caregivers of people with MS
(spouse, significant other, parents, siblings, children, friends), to discuss concerns,
share information, and find solutions. This group welcomes new caregivers to
attend.
Meets the second Monday of the month, from 7:00- 9:00pm.
Brampton Support Group

This group meets on alternate weeks. This group is a friendly and warm environment for people living with MS to discuss issues and enjoy friendly conversation

This group meets every other Monday from 7:00-9:00pm

Orangeville Support Group This support group is for men and women with MS get together for support, encouragement and information. This group meets the third Tuesday of the month from 7:00-9:00pm.
