The following organizations offer adapted programming and/or specialized programs for persons living with MS. Please contact one of the providers listed below for program details. Please note: Dates and times are subject to change.

If you are a person living with MS, we would like to hear from you about your community recreation and wellness experiences whether through one of the organizations below or a self-identified program. Your thoughts and experiences are important in helping us strengthen community opportunities and identifing new potential programs. Adapted Yoga - The MS Society of Canada, Yellowknife Regional Office offers an Adaptive Yoga Class for people living with Multiple Sclerosis. The program offers two 10-week long sessions twice a year (spring and fall). Yoga combines aspects of stretching, strengthening, balance and coordination training, and even cardiovascular fitness to improve overall heath. It is an activity that is can be relaxing, in turn reducing stress and does not add much excess fatigue. Yoga integrates techniques of for breathing and moving, so overheating is not a concern. Adapted Yoga was was made possible by the generous support and donations from the City of Yellowknife.
