Virtual Photo Walks is a non-profit organization that uses smart phones and video conferencing to enable people isolated by illness or disability to travel the world in real time. Thanks to technology partners and a group of dedicated virtual volunteer guides from all over the world, Virtual Photo Walks is able to make the world bigger and brighter for the community of people with disabilities and make a difference in people's lives.

Using Virtual volunteer guides, equipped with a smart phone, individuals can participate in an immersive, real-time, experience of places they will likely never see first-hand; an African safari, a war veterans’ reunion, a hike in the forest. Participants are connected via the internet in real-time via video and voice, they can interact each other and their virtual photography guide in a private video conference. It is secure and moderated. – an extraordinarily interactive moving experience. Via text and voice connections, participants can make special requests of their guide.

Visit the website for more information on how to participate in a Virtual Photo Walk or to volunteer, or join the group on Facebook.
